Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) resulted from a union of
three North American Lutheran church bodies: The American Lutheran Church,
the Association of Evangelical Lutheran Churches, and the Lutheran Church in America.
As one of the 65 regional bodies of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,
the Northern Illinois Synod empowers , supports, and serves its 168
congregations and more than 101,000 members.
Together we work to Make Christ Known in our congregations, our
communities, our nation, and throughout the world.
