Text Box: Secret Santa
St. John’s is blessed to be a part of the Alden-Hebron Elementary School Secret Santa
program by adopting 12 kids and by being the pick-up spot for all that Christmas cheer. Thanks to our Celebrating Seniors Group for packing goody bags for each of the families! The elementary school kids will bring the gifts to church on Monday, December 18, at 2:00. If you’re available for about 30 minutes, they’d love help unloading the gifts. Also,
the school is looking for donations of wrapping paper and tape; please drop that off at the school as soon as possible.
Text Box: Winter Wear Giveaway

Many thanks to Gayle Mansfield, Val Stephens, Shirlee Correll (from Hebron Methodist), and several others for their good work on making sure people of this community have warm coats, hats, mittens, and other winter wear! With help from a Thrivent Action Team gift card (thanks, Julie Meyer, for applying for it!), they were able to purchase many coats and winter accessories from area resale shops and give it all away in mid-November. They had at least 150 coats for people to choose from! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this event so successful!

Baby Shower for Jesus

Each year we hold a Baby Shower for Jesus to benefit Home of the Sparrow, the agency that works with homeless women and children in McHenry County. Please join us for a delicious meal thanks to the middle school Sunday school class on Sunday, December 4, directly after worship. All monetary donations will go to Home of the Sparrow, and you can also donate household items. Please go to www.hosparrow.org to see a complete list of their needs.

Community Thanksgiving

Thank you to everyone who came together to give thanks at the community service. We were able to give $739 to the Hebron Food Pantry with our offerings that night!

Hurricane Relief and Noisy Offering

Thank you to everyone who brought in their pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters for October’s noisy offering. We collected just about $110 in just 5 weeks! We combined that with what had accumulated in the Sunday school offering and sent $550 to Lutheran Disaster Relief where 100% of it will go to help the victims of all those hurricanes in August and September.
