Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The beautiful summer weather has decided to stay with us for a little longer, and oh what a blessing it is!

This past week I was on vacation, and although our plans were altered once again, it felt good to unwind, even if only for a few moments. In our backyard we have 3 bird feeders with seeds, and 1 hummingbird feeder. Each feeds a lot of birds (and sometimes a chipmunk or two) daily. It is fun to watch them move around but even more of a blessing to listen as they sing. Something else I was able to do this week was to intentionally take some time to look up in the sky at the big fluffy white clouds and all the amazing shapes they make.

A beautiful sight that is for sure and if you are looking for some stay-cation ideas, I highly encourage everyone to find some free space and unwind for a bit. Put up your feet and look around at God’s beauty. It is everywhere! Listen to the birds and see the sights around you. Take in deep, slow breathes, and exhale just as slowly, all the while releasing the tension from your body, and once recharged, you will be ready for life and living!

A few weeks ago, you were notified that our youngest son, Daniel had tested positive for Covid. First, I would like to thank everyone for all their prayers and well wishes. Daniel had a very mild case, to which we are thankful for, and although I quarantined at home, I did go for a test and I was negative. I guess washing hands and wiping everything down with bleach worked in preventing the spread. These are good practices for all of us to keep.

Rummage Sale:

The rummage sale will be held this Friday, August 28th from 8-4 and Saturday, August 29th from 8-2. If you could post this on your social media outlets and tell your neighbors, it would be greatly appreciated. Help us get the word out!

Backpack blessing

I mentioned last week that in place of our normal backpack blessing, I would be doing something a little different, and asked the kids to check their mailbox for a letter addressed to them.

Unfortunately, because of the gift I put in the envelope, the cost to mail each envelope went from 55 cents to over $3.00. I thought of removing the gift, but I did not want to do that.

So here is what we are going to do. For the next two Sunday’s in worship we will be handing out as many of the envelopes to the children as we can, and after that we will put the rest in the mail.

I know children love to receive mail with their name on it and I am sorry for these last-minute changes.

As always, please remember to keep our children, and their teachers, in your prayers!
